Common Questions

  • Can other programs be used while Ocutouch is running?
Absolutely. Simply minimize the program in its console menu to access other programs. To return to Ocutouch, restore it by clicking on its button on the Windows® taskbar.
  • How do I uninstall Ocutouch?
If you are using v1.0, you will need the Ocutouch installation CD in order to uninstall it. Follow these instructions:
    1. Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
    2. Locate the Ocutouch entry in the list and click "Remove."
    3. If prompted, restart your computer immediately.
  • Does Ocutouch function with a mouse?
Absolutely. Usability is a focal point of Ocutouch, so it has been designed with all interfaces in mind. While a mouse allows for simple usage, some users find the experience to be heightened with the added ease of touch. Refer to hardware solutions to see how you might get more out of Ocutouch.
  • Does Ocutouch work on DVD players?
The current version of Ocutouch does not. The functionality of the exam and consultation room portion of the program greatly relies on the additional functionality that a PC provides.
  • How can I improve the sound quality on my laptop?
If you are currently using a laptop or tablet PC with Ocutouch, the sound quality may not be acceptable due to the low quality speakers found on such devices. We recommend purchasing a small two speaker system to complement your system. Adequate speakers can be purchased for less than $50.00.
  • Can I use Ocutouch on my existing EMR, Visual Acuity, or Clinical Photo computer?
Yes, Ocutouch works seamlessly on most systems and adds tremendous value to your existing hardware investment. See System Requirements to verify that your hardware can be used.
  • Why is the USB license key used?
In order to provide the large amount of copyrighted artwork within Ocutouch, the USB key is used to protect its intellectual property while also greatly reducing the cost of licensing all of the included artwork.
  • Can Ocutouch be installed on a server and run from client computers?
No. In order to run Ocutouch, it must be installed on each client computer and each client must contain a USB license key.
  • Can the USB license key be removed when Ocutouch is not running?
Yes. Ocutouch can be installed on multiple computers and you can use it on each by simply moving the key from computer to computer. For example, if you normally use Ocutouch in a waiting room but need to do a seminar with your laptop, simply install Ocutouch on the laptop and move the USB license key to it.
